Want to Learn How to Fix a Car AC?

Want to Learn Something Useful from a Reputable Auto Repair Shop?

There are 3 different ways for you to learn air conditioning repair from a reliable

auto repair shop

, which include completing a certificate course, becoming a mechanic, or completing an auto apprenticeship plan. The repair process will call for specialized training and equipment, due to the fact this process uses pressurized gases which have to be properly transported, stored, and disposed of under environmental laws. Air conditioning in a vehicle is the artificial cooling of air which is circulated within a vehicle.

Air conditioning systems have been used in cars dating back to the early 1940s. The methods, however, have changed from freon gas, R12, and R-134a. In the 1980s, laws were passed that mandated every new car had to use R-134a, as this is considered more environmentally friendly. This shift did, however, have a huge impact on new cars. Fortunately, older cars were not required to go through it, which means every diesel engine

mechanic had to learn how to use and repair both kinds of auto air conditioning systems and be able to retrofit older systems to the newer ones.

The best way to learn auto air conditioning repair is by completing a certificate program. These are normally organized by local community colleges which run auto repair training programs. Admission is, however, restricted to licensed mechanics or people that are already enrolled in an auto apprenticeship program.

During these training programs, auto air conditioning repair will be a big part of the curriculum. Advanced training in air conditioning retrofitting is provided in many areas, as it is a growing need. Various community and career colleges now offer auto mechanic training and are usually around 2-3 years in length, and offer students numerous opportunities for

cooperative

learning and job placements.
